The McBrayer lab in the Children’s Research Institute at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an exceptional candidate to conduct research related to the development of targeted therapies for glioma. The primary research objective for this position will be to conduct CRISPR/Cas9 screens to identify oncogenotype-specific vulnerabilities in brain tumors. Responsibilities will include: cell line model creation, CRISPR screening and analysis, and quantitative assessments of synthetic lethality. Additional responsibilities will include: directing research efforts in collaboration with an industry partner as well as analyzing and presenting results to both internal and external collaborators. 

We are seeking a candidate with the following background:

  1. Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Genetics, or related field is required
  2. Experience with gene editing and CRISPR is preferred
  3. Experience with in vitro and in vivo cancer models is preferred
  4. Ability to work productively and independently in a fast-paced environment is required
