The Department of Nutrition invites applications for up to 4 tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor positions (9-month) for individuals demonstrating expertise in how diet influences biological mechanisms relevant to the mechanistic understanding and prevention of chronic diseases including obesity, diabetes, cancer, aging and inflammation-related disorders. To meet the needs of the emerging field of precision nutrition, the department has an interest in building on its strengths in the basic sciences and expanding its translational and applied nutrition research. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise that complements/synergizes with the strengths of the department and advances the initiatives of precision nutrition.
Qualifications: Requirements include a Ph.D. in nutrition, public health, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, genetics, or other related fields. The potential for research productivity and grantsmanship should be apparent in the application. Preference will be given to individuals with postdoctoral experience, demonstrated expertise, and a desire to participate in multidisciplinary research programs.
Responsibilities: Tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level are funded by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Texas A&M University. Candidates are expected to develop and maintain competitive, extramurally-funded research programs, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition, and contribute to academic service.
