The primary purpose of the Research Project Manager position is to perform advanced and complex level-specific activities related to research projects and studies and impact population science research protocols.

The ideal candidate will be Bilingual in English / Mandarin to support the Chinese c ommunity.

Job Specific Competencies:
Project/ Protocol Management - Manages all operational and technical aspects of multiple research projects, including behavioral intervention studies that aim to improve the quality of life among Chinese American cancer survivors. Ensures successful project planning, implementation, and closure. Develops detailed protocols and operating procedures. Submits and revises study protocols to obtain regulatory approval. Meets recruitment goals and oversees quality control in intervention delivery and data collection. Develops and designs data collection instruments and questionnaire testing procedures.

Personnel Managment - Manages personnel issues, including staff supervision and training, recruitment of new staff, assistance with the hiring process, completion of performance evaluations, motivation, counseling and directing staff, and resolving workflow issues. Other duties as assigned. Oversees completion of administrative requirements for staff. Serves as a liaison for community-based collaborators. Assists with the development and management of study databases to ensure data quality.

Grant Managment - Assists and/or completes all aspects of grant submissions and progress reports. Writes abstracts, reports, and grant and manuscript sections. Oversees budgets, financial transactions, distribution of effort and other project resources.

Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Preferred: Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Required: Six years experience in scientific or experimental research to include two years as a project manager. With preferred degree, four years scientific or experimental research experience to include one year as a project manager.

Preferred: Bilingual in English / Mandarin.
