Two postdoctoral positions are available for functional and structural studies of regulatory mechanism of potassium channels in the laboratory of Tinatin Brelidze, Ph.D., in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at Georgetown University Medical Center.  For the position focused on functional studies of ion channels a strong background in current recordings using the patch-clamp technique, and a good publication record is required.  For the position in structural studies of ion channels a strong background in membrane protein purification techniques, cryo-EM and/or X-ray crystallography, and a good publication record is required.  In addition to electrophysiology and structural biology, the laboratory utilizes a verity of biophysical methods to study molecular mechanisms and physiological roles of ion channels, including surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and fluorescence-based techniques, and also animal models.  The postdoctoral fellows will have an opportunity to participate in these multidisciplinary studies.  For more information on the laboratory please visit https://pharmacology.georgetown.edu/people/faculty/brelidze-2/
