The candidate will be primarily responsible for developing mass spec-based strategies & methods (e.g. LC-MS and LC-MS/MS) and perform analysis for the characterization and comparability evaluation of therapeutic proteins. They will also develop and apply advanced methods and techniques, including immunoprecipitations and/or other small-scale purifications. The candidate is also expected to develop other analytical and/or biochemical methods to deepen the understanding of protein structure -function relationships, and participate in supporting FTIH through commercial biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing.

The mass spec group is well equipped with modern instrumentation including Synapt G2S with both H/DX and IM, Xevo G2-XS, Orbitrap Fusion Tribrid, Orbitrap XL, Exploris 480, Eclipse Tribrid, Q Exactive Plus, 2D-NanoUPLC, Nano-UPLC, UPLC and many other supporting instrumentation and associated data analysis software.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • MS with more than 5+ years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry or a Ph.D.
  • Experience in protein characterization mass spectrometry, with hands-on experience on various high-resolution accurate mass LC-MS instruments operation, nano-LC fluidics and LC-MS/MS methods, data processing software and workflows.
  • Experience in mass spectrometry instrumentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Prior experience in developing cutting-edge LC-MS/MS workflows for therapeutic proteins in combination (co-formulation) is highly preferred
  • .


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Experience in analysis of protein therapeutics using platform assays like intact/reduced, peptide mapping and advanced/novel technologies
  • Excellent scientific and working knowledge in structure and function of protein glycosylation, prior experience in glycan and/or glycomics analysis
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in various separation techniques such as immunoprecipitation or other in vitro purification, CE, SEC, IEX and HPLC/UPLC
  • Experience in supporting FTIH through commercial stage of biopharmaceutical development
  • The candidate is expected to be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Candidate should be an instinctive team player with excellent people skills.
