Job Details

The Enteric Neurosciences Program at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota seeks a post-doctoral fellow to join this successful and highly collaborative team.

The project is focused on:

     * The cell biology of interstitial cells of Cajal and the role of those cells in regulating gastrointestinal motility in health and disease.

     * The successful candidate should have a PhD in cellular physiology, neuroscience or immunology and an interest in cell proliferation, survival and fate, gene transcription and epigenetics, and/or regulation of cellular excitability.

     * The technical requirements for this position are first-hand experience with the techniques of cell and tissue culture, animal handling, immunocytochemistry and microscopic imaging, as well as molecular biology techniques including PCR, molecular cloning, and transcriptome/epigenome analysis by next-generation sequencing and related computational methods. 

     * An interest in voltage-gated ion channel physiology would be a great asset for any applicant.

  Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
