What you will need:
Education: PhD Required, in molecular biology, neuroscience, genetics/genomics, computational biology or bioinformatics Certification: N/A Experience: With PhD training in molecular biology, cellular biology, neuroscience, genetics or bioinformatics Skills: Knowledge of molecular biology, cellular biology, neuroscience, genetics/genomics, computational biology, or bioinformatics. Ability to prepare scientific manuscripts for publication. Ability to develop scientific proposals to apply for fellowships. Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect experiment or reporting of results and of taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel. Ability to analyze large genomic data sets is also a plus. Experience with stem cell culture, neuroscience research or bioinformatics is a plus. Analyze large genomic datasets is a plus.
What you will do:
Focus is on using patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC)-derived neurons and brain organoids models to study the molecular and neurobiological basis of neuropsychaitric and neurodegenerative disorders (Forrest MP, et a., Cell Stem Cell. 2017; Zhang S. et al. Science. 2020). Be involved in iPSC culture, neuron differentiation, open chromatin mapping, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, single cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq, CRISPRi/a for gene perturbation, scaled morphological and electrophysiological analyses of neurons and brain organoids. Take part in the computational analyses of large genomic datasets such as single cell ATAC-seq
