What You Will Achieve

The qualified candidate will join the Analytical R&D organization and contribute to the development of biological therapeutic candidates. Within Analytical R&D, the candidate will join the Mass Spectrometry and Biophysical Characterization group. The qualified candidate will be responsible for implementing methods of analysis for the detailed characterization of proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, vaccines, and oligosaccharides.

How You Will Achieve It

The candidate will be responsible for utilizing the following techniques to confirm the intended structure of drug candidates: mass spectrometry, chromatography, spectroscopy and proteolytic mapping. The characterization of product modifications is also a key element of the position, including determining the site(s) of modification in the protein, and then confirming the modifications by orthogonal methods. The above skills will be applied to a large platform of projects in all stages of development.

Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of experience or Master's Degree with 0-2 years of experience in analytical biochemistry, chemistry or biochemistry.
  • Attention to detail, in terms of experimental setup, data analysis, and electronic notebook/report writing, is another important characteristic that the candidate must exercise on a daily basis in order to be successful.
  • In addition to good communication and writing skills, the applicant should also be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based, fast-paced environment.


Nice-to-Have
  • Prior experience with chromatographic or spectroscopic methods for the detailed structural characterization of proteins, vaccines, peptides, oligonucleotides or oligosaccharides is highly beneficial.
  • Previous employment in the pharmaceutical industry would be highly beneficial.
