The University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago invites outstanding candidates to apply for an endowed chair position at the rank of full professor in the field of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. The Department of Pharmacology & Regenerative Medicine ranks among the top pharmacology departments in NIH funding.  The department has a vibrant research and training community, as well as a deeply ingrained culture of collaboration.

We seek an exceptional candidate with a dynamic research program, considerable research support, and ability to provide leadership for NIH programmatic function.  This individual, while working with other faculty, is also expected to develop a vision for the regenerative medicine research programs in the department and contribute to their vitality. Candidates should have current NIH funding and have demonstrated leadership in the field. All candidates should have a PhD and/or MD degree, as well as an outstanding publication record in one or more of these areas: 1) biology of adult or pluripotent stem cells 2) signaling mechanisms underlying differentiation, self-renewal or regeneration; 3) genome editing approaches in stem cells or tissue repair; 4) reprogramming or lineage conversion to enhance regeneration or 5) genetic lineage tracing and regulation of endogenous stem cells. The position comes with ample resources.
