UE08 (£41,526 pa to £49,553 pa) or UE09 (£52,559 pa to £59,135 pa) depending on experience.
Initial 5 year fixed-term contract with structured review at the end of year 4 for open-ended position.
35 hours per week
Applications are invited from scientifically qualified candidates for 2 SIDB Fellowships to be hosted by the established Simons Initiative for the Developing Brain (SIDB) within the Patrick Wild Centre at The University of Edinburgh. These are new tenure-track positions that will focus on establishing an independent research programme.

The Opportunity:
The successful candidates will be outstanding scientists with a proven record of research excellence to complement and enhance research into autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders. Applications will be considered from researchers with a range of expertise from molecular biology/genetics to cellular and circuit physiology to behaviour.

Subject to a satisfactory formal review at the end of year four, the post-holder will then move to a standard University academic open-ended contract at the end of year five. Appointments at Senior Lecturer level will be considered for suitably qualified candidates.
Your skills and attributes for success:
• Carry out world-leading research.
• PhD completed in Neuroscience, medical sciences, biochemistry, genetics or other closely related field.
• Significant postdoctoral research experience and expertise in molecular approaches to treatments.
• Recent record of outstanding publications.
• Evidence of independence and initiative in conceiving and driving research projects.
• Experience of inter-disciplinary collaborations.
• Experience working with patient-led society and advocacy groups.
