A Post-doctoral research scholar position is available at the University of California at Davis, School of Medicine, and Division of Rheumatology Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

The Ridgway lab at UC Davis is recruiting talented and highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar. We are members of the UC Davis Immunology Program and we study the immunogenetic basis of autoimmune disease in humans and mice. The successful candidate will work in an NIH-funded laboratory with access to state-of-the-art facilities. As a postdoctoral scholar, primary responsibilities will be the design and execution of experiments in immunology and autoimmunity, including conducting and managing experimental trials in Type 1 diabetes and Primary biliary cholangitis models, analysis of immune cell populations and their modulation by therapeutic interventions, and the performance of general molecular, immunological and cellular biology techniques including cell culture, ELISA, FACS, western blotting and general laboratory techniques used in the research program. Prompt analysis of all data, using software such as Prism Graphpad, excel and Powerpoint, is also expected, as well as integration of findings into the known scientific literature and presentation of results at weekly lab meetings. Self-motivated scholars that demonstrate passion for research along with a comprehensive working knowledge of common laboratory techniques in immunology are encouraged to apply. Experience with mouse models, flow cytometry, and molecular biology is desired. A PhD, or MD/PhD in a relevant field is required. Fluency in English, strong communications skills and the ability to work well within a team are also essential. Candidates with a background in immunology and autoimmunity demonstrated in their publication record will be preferred.

Successful candidates will benefit from a dynamic and highly collaborative environment and the opportunity to interact with the extended scientific community at UC Davis, which ranks among the top 10 public research universities in the US, and will be encouraged to present their research at international meetings.

To be considered for the position, submit in a single PDF a detailed CV with methodological expertise, a list of scientific publications, and the contact details of three referees to Kaitlyn Kirk at kkirk@ucdavis.edu. Salary will be according to NIH scale and commensurate with experience. Position available immediately.
