A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dennis Selkoe at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School to study the molecular basis of Alzheimer’s disease and translational research towards diagnostic and therapeutic agents. The lab and its collaborators study the dynamics of amyloid beta-protein (Aβ) and tau protein in human brain, CSF and plasma. The work includes multiple advanced technologies, including ultra-sensitive immunoassays on Quanterix Simoa HD-X, SP-X and Millipore SMCxPRO platforms. We analyze human tissues and biofluids, mouse models, and patient-derived iPSCs.

Required qualifications

Only those with a PhD in biochemistry/protein biology should apply. The successful applicant must also have no longer than 1-3 years post-PhD of hands-on research in protein biochemistry and immunochemistry. Applicants should have direct productivity in protein chemistry as shown by peer-reviewed journal publications. Experience with immunoassays and protein purification/modification/characterization is essential and with proteomics is advantageous.

The project will be labor-intensive and requires a highly experienced scientist with evidence of productivity and an eye for detail. The position will be available immediately.

Applications should be directed to Dennis Selkoe, M.D. and Lei Liu, Ph.D. (lliu35@bwh.harvard.edu).
