The primary purpose of the Research Assistant I is to provide technical and coordination skills in carrying out various research projects. We are seeking a highly motivated enthusiastic person to help a senior researcher in a dynamic lab with numerous opportunities to learn cutting-edge cancer research.

Key Functions
  • Coordinates and conducts experiments to help design and carry out research projects in the research laboratories in accordance with established protocols.
  • Applies the standard techniques of molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology.
  • Keeps cell banks and archival samples organized.
  • Generates and analyzes data for presentations and publications
  • Reads and keeps current on literature and techniques related to field of investigation and confers with supervisor regarding new procedures.
  • Records and evaluates data obtained in accordance with methods requested and assists with writing reports.
  • Performs lab management functions as needed.
  • Operates laboratory apparatus and equipment.
  • Apply basic background in science to the application of laboratory techniques, using judgment, analysis and evaluation
  • Master essential skills and techniques used in the laboratory.
  • Contribute to the laboratory by maintaining a productive work environment and participating in the scientific culture.
  • Employ safe laboratory practices.
  • Performs other duties as required.
