This role will be responsible for working within a team of bio-analysts to design and develop cell-based reporter assay capable of simultaneously measuring the potency of more than one drug or Mechanism of Action in a single assay.

Key responsibilities:
  • Automate, qualify and validate cell-based reporter assays in a GMP environment and their use in the release of pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial drug supplies.
  • Contribute to the management of the bioassay's life-cycle strategy.
  • Ensure team's scientific studies are recorded and documented both accurately and coherently.
  • Manage the successful and timely transfer of analytical technologies to and from contract manufacturers, testing labs, or the GSK Manufacturing organization. Some travel may be involved.
  • Provide scientific leadership to method development and have a solid understanding of biopharm product Mechanism of Action(s)
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with groups outside of biopharm analytical sciences and GSK.
  • Seek all opportunities to develop and maintain a strong IP position.


Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BSc / MSc /PhD with 10, 5- or 1-year(s) relevant post graduate experience in Cell biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, Immunology or related discipline.
  • Experience with the design and development of reporter-based assays (could include the development of high throughput assays) using luciferase or other similar systems to measure the response in cell systems.
  • Experience with solving problems and analyzing data related to the drugs' Mechanism of Action(s).
  • Experience with the analytical life cycle management of biopharmaceuticals (particularly antibodies)


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Experience developing, qualifying and validating GMP cell-based bioassay
  • Experience with Automation particularly Hamilton robotics
  • Experience responding to agency (regulatory) questions
  • Proven record of accomplishments delivering impactful results.
