ROLE SUMMARY

Work under supervision of Senior Scientist or higher providing bioanalytical support for large molecules. Assist with the development of robust and reliable ligand binding and cell-based assays suitable for characterizing the disposition (PK) and Immunogenicity of biotherapeutics in various matrixes using a range of potential platforms and assay techniques. Deliver drug concentration and immunogenicity data to BMD principal investigators. Assist with development and validation of assays to be governed per departmental SOP. Engage in accurate execution and documentation of bioanalytical methods in a regulatory compliant manner. Ensure GLP/GCP compliance is maintained in laboratory during study support. Provide Bioanalysis for Biotherapeutic compounds, under the guidance of a bioanalytical principal investigator. This includes the development and implementation of ligand binding assays (e.g. ELISA, ECL detection, Gyros) to measure compound concentration, detection the presence of anti-drug antibody and neutralizing anti-product antibody activity in a regulated environment; The design, development and implementation of appropriate cell-based assays; Data analysis and interpretation and drawing conclusions regarding progress and results of work; Gathering input from BMD colleagues, other departments, literature, and additional resources to assist in driving the project forward.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This is a complete laboratory-based position 5 days a week.
  • Design, develop and implement ligand binding assays (e.g. ELISA, ECL detection, Gyros) in biological matrix (plasma, serum) to measure compound concentration, detect the presence of anti-drug antibody and neutralizing anti-product antibody activity in a regulated (GLP, GCP) environment.
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation and be able to draw conclusions regarding progress and results of work, utilizing the data in appropriate decision making.
  • Gathers input from colleagues, literature, and additional resources to assist in driving the project forward. Knowledge and hands-on experience developing ligand binding assays, utilizing various platforms.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree with at least 2 years of industry experience, research experience, or a related occupation, ORMaster's degree/foreign degree equivalent in Chemistry, Biology or related field with 0 years of experience.
    *** medical and diagnostic technicians, as well as academic lab (NIH) experience will be considered.
  • Hands on Ligand Binding Assay (LBA) experience
  • Experience with Meso Scale Discovery (MSD) ECL platform
  • Adaptability to changing work assignments and priorities
  • Collaborative skills and effective partnering skills in a complex, multi-discipline organizational model
  • Excellent teamwork, Interpersonal and communication skills, strong attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with cell-based bioassays
  • Automation experience
  • Skill set supporting molecular biology testing
  • Gyros
  • Experience in a regulated environment is desirable.
