Senior Computational Biologist

ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a highly motivated computational biologist with a strong biological and computational background to join a bioinformatic group to partner with an outstanding group of experimental scientists developing novel cancer vaccines and immuno-therapeutics. The successful candidate will work closely with immunologists and oncologists in a dynamic environment to advance the discovery and development of cancer vaccines and immunotherapies. This is an exciting opportunity to work with other bioinformatics group members working on tumor intrinsic mechanisms and collaborate in functional genomics, biophysics, proteomics, enzymology and structural biology. The successful candidate will also be responsible for analyzing biomarker data from early clinical development and applying innovative ways of translating these findings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Collaborate with bench scientists to design and execute computational analysis of high-throughput data from preclinical and clinical studies to support development of novel cancer vaccines and immunotherapies and contribute to data packages supporting decision making;

• Conduct in silico analysis to integrate, interpret, and mine internal and public data to address questions about neoantigen discovery, HLA typing, predictive biomarker, tumor indication, drug combination and resistance mechanisms;

• Actively participate in project teams with multidisciplinary backgrounds to formulate data-driven, actionable hypotheses;

• Devise and leverage state of the art computational approaches for cancer vaccines development and precision medicine;

• Develop tools for sharing and visualization of processed data.

QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD or equivalent in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or related fields with 3+ years of post-degree experience or equivalent;

• Deep knowledge of vaccine development, immune oncology or immunology research and related tools/databases such as NetMHC and IEDB;

• Expertise in analysis of RNA structure and function and applications to RNA therapeutics;

• Proficiency in scientific programming languages (R/Maltab, Python) in UNIX/LINUX and experienced in high performance computing environment. Cloud computing experience is a plus;

• Experience processing and interpreting next generation sequencing data including WES and RNAseq

• Ability to multi-task, effectively communicate (oral and written) and work with diverse expertise project teams.
