The Largaespada and Harris labs at the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to perform research work focused on the role of APOBEC mutagenesis and genetic pathways that cause breast cancer. Studies will involve utilization of cutting-edge mouse models using APOBEC minigenes and Sleeping Beauty technologies.
30%: Animal husbandry and maintenance, necrospy and dissection, record keeping and molecular analyses of tumor and normal tissues using the polymerase chain reaction, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and other techniques.
30%: Cellular biology, molecular biology, and immunology with established cell lines and primary tissues.
20%: Bioinformatics analyses including DNA and RNA sequencing studies.
20%: Designing and leading experiments including the supervision of technical staff and undergraduate research students.
- Ph.D. degree in a biomedical sciences area such as genetics, immunology, molecular biology, or pharmacology.
- At least 4 years of primary research lab experience is required, including a strong track record of primary research publications
- Strong evidence of functional genomics experience
- Coursework in genetics and biochemistry
- Biostatistics classes
- Bioinfomatics experience
- Strong communication skills including experience presenting at national/international conferences.
