Position Summary
Research Associate II position in microscopy and image analysis in the Light Microscopy and Digital Imaging Core facility working with the Director, Brian Armstrong, Ph.D.

This position is for someone who enjoys working with people and helping scientists to achieve their imaging goals. A working understanding of immunohistochemistry and cell staining will be useful. A basic understanding of laboratory assays used in tissue and cell preparations would be useful as well. The position will require the applicant to teach and assist others in the proper use of high-quality computer operated microscope systems including widefield, Confocal, and 2-photon microscope systems.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • A Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience or Master's with 1 year of experience within basic biology or molecular biology is required.
  • Knowledge of light microscopy and image analysis is preferred.
  • Experience with image analysis software, basic statistics and information technology will also be preferred.
  • Skills in written and verbal communication, computer use, and digital imaging will be preferred.
