Job Details

An NCI R01-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Mikhail Nikiforov, Wake Forest School of Medicine and Wake Forest Baptist Health Comprehensive Cancer Center, Winston-Salem, NC. We are interested in identification and pharmacological exploitation of metabolic vulnerabilities of cancer cells with a focus on lipid and nucleotide metabolism. The area of research includes functional characterization of novel metabolic targets in metastatic melanoma or mechanisms of progression and drug resistance in multiple myeloma. The successful candidate should hold a PhD degree in a relevant field and possess and extensive hands-on experience in basic biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, work with mice including various routes of drug delivery, breeding, etc., and biostatistics tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. We are looking for candidates interested in multidisciplinary research.
