Position Summary

Christiane Querfeld, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Program, seeks better treatment options for cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL), a rare form of lymphoma that first appears on the skin but can also spread to lymph nodes and internal organs. City of Hope is one of the few institutions in the country that offers clinical trials to treat cutaneous lymphomas. Dr. Querfeld leads a multidisciplinary team of experts, including medical and radiation oncologists, pioneering treatments for CTCL and its subtypes. Dr. Querfeld's laboratory investigations are focused on the microenvironment in CTCL funded by NIH-NCI R01 and LLS scholar grants.

The Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Lymphoma Program at City of Hope (lead: Christiane Querfeld, MD, PhD) is offering a 2-year fellowship in cutaneous lymphoma. The position will provide a broad experience in patient care, clinical trials and various clinical research projects. Requirements include a medical degree from a recognized university and preferably one year of experience in medicine and/or dermatology. Applicants who have completed dermatology training are also preferred. Applicants from outside of North America must have passed the USMLE. Proficiency in English is needed.

Key Responsibilities include:
The fellow will participate in a multidisciplinary team closely working with faculty and teams from pathology, radiation oncology, and hematology/hematopoietic cell transplantation. The f ellow's responsibilities will include updating and maintaining cutaneous lymphoma registries, recruiting patients for trials and registries, writing clinical protocols and pursuing clinical research projects that includes manuscript preparation. The cutaneous lymphoma fellow will attend the dermatology-dermatopathology conferences, journal clubs, and participate in the presentations for the Cutaneous Lymphoma Tumor board and other selected City of Hope conferences. The fellows will also have an opportunity to present their work at a national conference such as American Academy of Dermatology or Society for Investigative Dermatology. Preference will be given to those who have completed a residency in internal medicine or dermatology, have an interest in pursuing an academic career, completed their internship year.

• Candidate be industrious, has sound technical skills and capable drafting grant proposals, research protocols and manuscripts.
• Under minimal direction of the Principal Investigator, works and is responsible for the development and execution of major research project and collaboration with the other researchers.
