The Briand lab at Temple University is seeking an accomplished and motivated Postdoctoral Associate to participate in an NIH-supported research project investigate physiological, molecular, cellular and behavioral mechanisms underlying drug addiction. Our research program utilizes a variety of approaches including optogenetics, whole-cell electrophysiology, behavioral testing, molecular techniques, and structural imaging. Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Psychology or related discipline. Experience with whole-cell patch clamp electrophysiology is required, experience in rodent behavior, molecular biology and/or microscopy is preferred. This position would be ideal for a candidate trained in electrophysiology looking to gain more experience in behavioral models of addiction. Successful candidates will have a strong track record of publication, good organizational skills and attention to detail.
