A Postdoctoral Fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Wayne Orr studying the role of vascular cell signaling mechanisms in atherosclerosis, ischemia/reperfusion injury, and angiogenesis.  The Orr lab, located in the Department of Pathology and Translational Pathobiology at the LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, has a long-standing interest in vascular cell signaling and the integration of signaling pathways from various environmental cues.  The Post-doctoral Fellow will join an NIH funded program examining how cellular interactions with the arterial microenvironment contribute to endothelial and smooth muscle cell phenotype.  In association with the LSU Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and Sciences (CCDS), the fellows will be exposed to extensive training and networking opportunities in vascular biology, career development workshops through the local Post-Doctoral Association, and opportunities for intramural fellowships through the CCDS.

Applicants must have received a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. within the last 0-2 years in cell biology, biochemistry, pathology, or related disciplines and possess a strong publication history.  Candidates with a background in vascular cell biology or cell signaling are particularly encouraged to apply.  English competency is required.  Please send a C.V. and names of three references to: A.
