Device Engineer I

Qualified candidates will focus on the development of drug delivery devices such as pre-filled syringes, auto-injectors, and inhalation devices.

Specific Job Responsibilities
  • Support and directly perform design, testing, and optimization related to drug delivery device development.
  • Perform compatibility studies of formulations, container closure systems, and drug delivery devices.
  • Author technical reports and design control documentation in support of regulatory filings and compliance.
  • Support device manufacturing and assembly operations and drive expeditious and appropriate resolution of deviations and investigations as necessary.
  • Support the technology transfer of combination product manufacturing to clinical and commercial manufacturing sites.
  • Support technical aspects of device product quality investigations.
  • Effectively communicate ideas, project goals, and results to team members across functional areas.
  • Overnight travel may be required up to 20% of time.


Knowledge & Skills
  • Familiarity with global medical device and combination product regulations and current good manufacturing practices is desirable.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Strong computer and organizational skills are required.
  • Must be able to exercise judgment within well-defined and established procedures and policies in order to determine and take appropriate action.
  • Qualified candidates should be self-motivated and organized, proactively identify issues, and develop solutions in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related scientific field and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant industry experience OR a Master's Degree and one (1) year of relevant industry experience.


Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience developing working in the medical device industry.
  • Prior experience collaborating with external suppliers, CMOs, or contract test laboratories.
