ROLE SUMMARY

A Senior Scientist within the Bio-Medicine Design department with Biosensor, cell binding assay, and automated liquid handling experience for characterizing biotherapeutics. The successful candidate will design and perform complex Biosensor assays to assess diverse biotherapeutic modalities to ensure the timely delivery and presentation of high quality analytical data packages to project teams. The candidate should be highly innovative and able to simultaneously manage multiple projects that meet aggressive timelines to advance the Bio-Medicine Design portfolio.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Characterize biotherapeutics by developing Biosensor assays, triaging early stage hits, assisting lead optimization and candidate selection.
  • Rigorous analysis of kinetic biomolecular interaction data and detailed reporting that impacts project advancement.
  • Present Biosensor data at multidiscipline project team meetings and regularly contribute strategic recommendations that progress programs.
  • Develop and implement innovative value-added Biosensor assays, explore novel technologies, and new instrumentation that expand capabilities.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A MS with 7+ years of industrial experience in Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline.
  • Comprehensive experience developing and executing protein-protein Biosensor, including surface plasmon resonance (SPR), and on-cell affinity assays to characterize biotherapeutics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and data management skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt within a fast-paced innovation driven scientific environment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A PhD with 0-3 years of experience in Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline.
  • Experience with Biacore, Octet, Cell-based assays, KinExA, or LigandTracer is highly preferred.
  • Post graduate laboratory discovery research experience in an industry setting is highly preferred.
  • Experience programming with Visual Basic, R, or equivalent, and database workflows is preferred.
