Postdoctoral position is available immediately to study lipid/alcohol regulation of calcium- and voltage-gated, big conductance potassium (BK) channels in native tissues (cerebrovascular myocytes, brain neurons) and heterologous systems (mammalian cell cultures, Xenopus oocytes, and lipid bilayers) expressing engineered BK subunits. Representative papers: J Biol Chem. (2021) 296:100381; JPET (2018) 367:234; J Lipid Rsch. (2017) 58:1044; J Gen Physiol. (2016) 148:419; PNAS (2014) 111:9313.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Physiology or Neuroscience. Documented proficiency (i.e., doctoral thesis; original research articles) in Electrophysiology is required. Proficiency in recording ion channel activity at single channel resolution is highly desired.
