ROLE SUMMARY

Senior Principal Scientist is an advanced level PhD position for an experienced immunologist/cell biologist with gene expression profiling interpretation experience. Candidate will be responsible for the development of novel immune profiling assays and analyzing humoral, cellular immunoassays and high-dimensional molecular readouts in support of various Pfizer vaccine programs from vaccine discovery through clinical development. Candidate will identify adjuvant-induced immune networks, and correlate in vitro and in vivo immune signatures from vaccine studies. This is a laboratory-based position supported by technical assistance at Clinical and Diagnostic Assay Development within the Vaccine Research and Development. Candidate will also be responsible for managing and training of other scientists and provide technical guidance within the department. Candidate with good analytical skills needs attention to detail and the ability to clearly document, communicate and interpret complex biological data. C andidate will be expected to work in a matrix environment, multitask and collaborate with team members to meet business-critical deadlines. A ll work is to be done in a compliant manner according to relevant Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Good Lab Practices (cGLP) guidelines.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design complementary immunological and gene expression profiling experiments to identify immune signatures from both in vitro and animal studies.
  • Identify transcriptomic and protein immune signatures that may predict the potency of an adjuvant or the efficacy of adjuvanted vaccines in vivo.
  • Evaluate and adapt novel immune profiling technologies, including high-throughput profiling and perturbation technologies.
  • Develop, optimize, and qualify assays for preclinical use.
  • Matrix network with Pfizer's other development functions, including but not limited to flow cytometry and systems immunology (bulk transcriptomics, single-cell transcriptomics, computational biology, etc.)
