Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine

We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral research associate. We have demonstrated novel molecular mechanisms of thromboinflammatory diseases, including atherothrombosis, vascular inflammation, and ischemia/reperfusion injury (Li et al. JCI 2014; Barazia et al. Blood 2015; Kim et al. Blood 2017; Li et al. Circulation 2019). The postdoc associate will study the mechanism mediating intravascular cell-cell interactions and vascular occlusion in thromboinflammation using the state-of-the-art techniques including, but not limited to, real-time intravital microscopy, gene knockdown/editing (CRISPR/Cas9), in situ and in vivo proximity ligation assays, CyTOF, and animal disease models.

The candidate should have

1. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree

2. Previous experience in cell biology and/or mouse disease models, such as thrombosis, inflammation, cancer, or stroke.

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and

4. First author papers in premier journals

The postdoc associate should be eligible for employment in the U.S. Start date is immediate. PI will help the postdoc associate develop his/her career by providing a highly interactive and exciting research environment and by encouraging the preparation of research papers, application of fellowships, and participation at national meetings.
