ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated senior scientist to join the Molecular Assessment and Profiling group in BioMedicine Design. This individual will plan, execute and provide in-depth biochemical and biophysical characterization of AAV viral vectors and AAV capsids. This person will be responsible for analyzing and presenting experiment results to various teams. Successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and contribute to team's deliverables.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform molecular characterization, biophysical analysis, and stability assessment of GTx AAV and next gen designs; will work on a wide range of assays.
  • Critically analyze and present experiment results across multiple teams spanning general to subject expert audiences.
  • Provide scientific guidance and decision to move project along discovery pipeline.
  • Drive technology innovation; evaluate new technologies and instrumentations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including therapeutic discovery teams, production groups, MS and development organization to plan and execute deliverables.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A PhD with 0-3 years of relevant experience in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related discipline.
  • Hands on experience with a wide range of molecular biology techniques and classic DNA analysis including cGE and gel based separation.
  • Extensive hands on experience with q/ddPCR (including primer probe design), method validation, assay development, and troubleshooting.
  • A solid understanding of protein biochemistry and stability.
  • Ability to multi-task multiple projects with overlapping timelines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledgeable with various protein characterization methods and analytical biochemistry techniques such as aSEC, cIEF, SEC-MALS and DLS.
  • Prior experience with viral vectors and/or AAV analytics is highly desirable.
  • Familiar with NGS sample prep and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated track record of independent research and scientific publications in peer review journals.
