Associate Director, Consumer Marketing-HIV Prevention

Foster City, CA

Responsibilities:
  • Support and manage key strategic and tactical executions of the US HIV Prevention and PrEP Consumer initiatives, reporting to the US Senior Director, DTC Marketing
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies, messaging and tactics directed toward diverse Consumer populations - including men who have sex with men and transgender individuals - incorporating health literacy and adult learning principles
  • Demonstrate command of traditional and innovative marketing channels, including TV, digital, social media, print, out-of-home and customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Support the future development of Consumer market growth strategies and initiatives focused on Consumer groups most vulnerable to HIV
  • Help lead the development of Consumer tactics according to overall business strategy and within agreed upon budgets
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional partners to identify synergies, help solve business problems, and create efficiencies across overall DTC efforts.
  • Effectively manage multiple agency partners to produce deliverables within timelines and allocated budget.
  • Gain approval for marketing materials through internal review processes to ensure marketing activities are in compliance with medical, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to key internal stakeholders (HIV business unit, leadership team, sales teams) and external audiences

  • High performing in-line marketer with the ability to align on a vision and collaborate across diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with innovative mindset and ability to think critically through complex business problems, offer solutions and clear point of view
  • Must have an entrepreneurial mentality and be confident working within a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with focus, and drive consensus among internal and external stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines and departments
  • Proven project management skills, tactical development, planning, and execution, and prioritization among competing business needs
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate are required
  • Track record of successful pharma/biotech and Consumer/Patient marketing with an understanding of expense budget planning, tracking and measurement/ROI
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required.


Specific Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 + years of hands-on work experience with a BS/BA or 8 + years of hands-on experience with a MS/MA or MBA
  • Minimum of 5+ years in product marketing and innovative advertising, with a preference for Consumer/Patient marketing experience
  • MBA preferred/Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related fields desired
  • Proven leadership and management experience required
  • Demonstrated understanding of Consumer/Patient marketing fundamentals, promotional strategy, and commercial policies and practices
  • Firm command of financial management and expense budget planning and tracking
  • Current experience in marketing/communications agency experience desired
  • Knowledge of HIV category experience desired, but not required
