The Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics at Boston University School of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (http://www.bumc.bu.edu/busm-pm/). We seek a colleague whose research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases and/or aging.  The ideal candidate will operate at the forefront of neurodegenerative or aging research. We are seeking investigators who will pursue their own independent research programs and who also appreciate the collaborative environment of Boston University (BU). Outstanding opportunities exist to interface with faculty through multiple cross-discipline, cross campus groups including Centers for Alzheimer’s disease (BU ADRC) and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, the Framingham Heart Study (FHS), and the Centers for Life Sciences Engineering (CILSE), Photonics and Data and Computing Sciences. State of the art cores are available for high-end imaging, proteomics and genomics/scRNAseq. Candidates will have broad access to graduate students through the Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics NIGMS funded T32 training grant, the graduate programs in Neuroscience, Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, General Medical Sciences as well as the MD/PhD Program.  Faculty will be encouraged to enrich the graduate teaching program.

Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree, and must have demonstrated outstanding scholarly success in their field. Junior level applicants with multi-year awards or mid-career or senior applicants who have a history of sustained grant support will be prioritized. The rank of the position depends on qualifications. Highly competitive start-up packages will be offered.
