Several postdoctoral research positions are available to work on NIH sponsored projects in the research laboratory of Dr. Ainslie located in University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Ainslie lab is in the Division of Pharmacoengineering and Molecular Pharmaceutics in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy, with laboratory space in the recently finished Marsico Hall. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is ranked #1 in the country and #2 internationally by US News and World Report (https://pharmacy.unc.edu/). Our lab develops translational platforms to deliver therapeutics and modulate the immune system. Information on the Ainslie lab can be found at http://ainslielab.web.unc.edu.

With stable funding from NIH grants, Dr. Ainslie’s research team is comprised of a group of chemists, engineers, biochemists, and immunologists who leverage advances in both immunology and biomaterials to create novel translation therapies and vaccines. These platforms are expected to achieve highly effective results as universal influenza vaccines, therapeutic vaccines for multiple sclerosis, T1D and cancer, and anti-infective agents.

The ideal candidates should have completed or is near completion of a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, immunology, bioengineering/biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or pharmaceutical sciences. Previous experience with flow cytometry, nanoparticles, bioconjugation, controlled release, vaccines, and/or drug delivery is highly desirable.

Available immediately or over the next six months. Interested candidates should submit a brief cover letter and curriculum vitae to Dr. Kristy Ainslie at ainsliek@email.unc.edu. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt.
