What You Will Achieve

As an Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. The primary purpose of this position is to assist, develop and perform all aspects of preclinical and clinical functional assays, including, but not limited to serum bactericidal assay (SBA) using robotics or manual method, including all required documentation. Also, included activities are preparation of buffers, media, qualification of assay reagents and other duties assigned as necessary. All of the above includes practicing laboratory safety at all times. All work is to be done in a compliant manner according to relevant SOP guidelines and GLP and/or GMP guidelines, as required.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Performs bacterial biofunctional assays, including meningococcal serum bactericidal assays (SBA), as part of exploratory, developmental, qualification and clinical study throughput.
  • This includes (i) making necessary media, buffers and reagents; (ii) experimentation leading to successful development, qualification and execution of robust assay and (iii) testing clinical study specimen throughput.
  • Present experimental results at group, project and department meetings. Write progress reports, as necessary.
  • Where applicable, performs job responsibilities in compliance with cGMP/GLP and all other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Satisfactorily completes all cGMP/GLP and safety training in conformance with departmental requirements.
  • Where applicable, performs job responsibilities in compliance with cGMP/GLP and all other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree - 0-3 years
  • Laboratory experience in a relevant field of science.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate and work in team environment.
  • Good Computer skills including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software.


Nice-to-Have

  • Pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery experience.
  • Knowledge of Luminex technology, mammalian cells and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience in developing and troubleshooting bioassays designed to assess antibody functionality.
