Job Details

The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The primary purpose of the Research Assistant I position in our lab is to perform research projects to investigate the imaging correlates of toxicity in head and neck cancer patients receiving radiotherapy. The position will involve close collaboration with PIs, post docs, students and research assistants. The position also requires organizing, coordinating and participating in scientific research projects. The position also involves responsibility for laboratory equipment and implementing safety procedures. Presents findings of research projects to professional groups and prepares scientific documents for publication.

Key Functions/job specific competencies

-Retrieval of patient planning CTs and RT doses.

-Building database of recruited patients' clinical and imaging data.

-Assist in image registration, organ at risk segmentation, data analysis, interpretation, and manuscripts preparation.

-Coordinate with Principal Investigator and co-investigators, department, treatment machines and imaging to help ensure that clinical research and related activities are performed in accordance with policies and procedures.

-Assist the PI in the conduct of the research studies around issues related to protocol requirements, and execution of research plan.

-Quality assure data acquisition, data management, and data confidentiality according to the protocol.

-Coordinate and facilitate monitoring and auditing visits.

-Assist the PI and research team to respond to any audit findings and implement approved recommendations.

Education

: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.
