Assistant Professor – Virologist (1.0 FTE)

Dalhousie University is inviting applications for a full-time, probationary tenure-track faculty position in Virology in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Faculty of Medicine. The appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Candidates must have a PhD or MD degree or equivalent, and a strong record, for their career stage, of innovative research investigating fundamental and/or applied aspects of virology. The successful incumbent will be expected to develop a collaborative research program that complements Infection, Immunity, Inflammation & Vaccinology (I3V) research at Dalhousie and affiliated Health Centres (for example, Canadian Centre for Vaccinology). Using diverse virus systems, local investigators explore such areas as oncolytics, vaccines, antivirals, immune responses, virus-host interactions and viral engineering. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in their areas of expertise.
