Professor of Biochemistry

At the Institute of Molecular Biosciences at the Natural Science Faculty, the University of Graz is seeking to appoint a : Professor of Biochemistry

(40 hours per week; selection procedure in accordance with Section 98 of the Universities Act (UG); permanent employment according to the Salaried Employees Act (AngG); expected starting date October 1st 2022)

The professorship is dedicated to the area of molecular and cellular biochemistry, with a focus on the (patho)physiology of energy and lipid metabolism in animal models (preferably in mice). The job holder’s research profile should match, complement and expand the research activities in the field of Molecular Biosciences at the IMB and in Graz. An active participation within the university's Field of Excellence “BioHealth,” as well as in the inter-university research networks NAWI Graz and BioTechMed-Graz, is expected. Furthermore, the job holder is expected to collaborate with the future Austrian Academy of Sciences Institute CORI (Institute of Experimental and Computational Metabolism). A strong commitment to teaching is also expected through the development and implementation of university courses and the supervision of master’s and doctoral theses. We also expect gender mainstreaming skills.
