SENIOR STAFF ASSOCIATE I

DEPARTMENT OF ANESTHESIOLOGY

The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, College of Physicians and Surgeons, seeks a Senior Staff Associate I to investigate the signaling mechanisms of acute kidney injury.

Experiments involve genetically modified mice and cell culture models using pharmacologic pathway inhibitors of signal transduction. Proficiency in cell culture, immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, confocal microscopy, and immunoblotting techniques is required.

Ability to work with minimal guidance is expected and essential. The desired candidate must be able to develop and learn new techniques as required for these studies as well as teach techniques to other members of the laboratory.

This position level requires a bachelor’s degree and 6–10 years of related research experience; master’s degree preferred.
