The individual will lead and support translational and sponsored research programs to advance drug discovery and clinical development programs. They will leverage their expertise in biology, pharmacology, genomics and proteomics, and translational science to lead and execute research associated with translational studies to advance drug discovery and development programs. Areas of responsibility include drug resistance and sensitivity, mechanism of action and differentiation, biomarker discovery, and clinical biomarker strategy development and execution.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead translational research programs to support advancement of late-stage preclinical and clinical development programs
  • Lead and manage sponsored research programs to promote advancement of discovery and clinical development programs
  • Contributes to development and/or implementation of new experimental capabilities with application to advance drug discovery and development programs
  • Contribute strategic leadership and scientific achievement through effective communication with line leads and executive management
  • Prepare and contribute to the preparation of high-quality written reports and oral presentations


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD in biology, biochemistry or related science plus at least 8years' industry or academic experience with a focus in Oncology.
  • Deep knowledge and successful application of molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology, genomics, and/or proteomics, to advance oncology drug discovery, drug characterization, biomarker discovery, and clinical biomarker analysis
  • Technical expertise in many of the following molecular and cell biology methods: analysis of protein expression by Western blot, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, ELISA and mass spectrometry; analysis of gene expression by RT-PCR and RNA sequencing; analysis of DNA genotype by sequencing and PCR-based methods, and analysis of complex data sets
  • Extensive expertise in small molecule drug discovery from lead identification to candidate nomination and Phase II clinical development
  • Exceptional scientist and leader who understands their role and responsibilities and works to contribute to the overall success of the teams and efforts they support
  • Highly refined oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate key concepts to all levels of the organization as well as externally
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of independence to effectively address both strategic and tactical challenges, leveraging their strong understanding of biology, pharmacology, and oncology
  • Recognized company wide as a subject matter and/or technical expert in one or more areas
  • Candidate demonstrates depth of leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Able to adhere to safe work practices and perform lab works with appropriate personal protection equipment such as but not limited to safety goggles, facial mask, gloves, lab coat/ protective gowning, and closed toe shoes
  • Able to work at flexible hours occasionally when performing time-sensitive

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $106,300 to $177,100. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
