SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Research Investigator (RI) position is to establish single-cell omics workflows for tissues in the Department of Translational Molecular Pathology Department (TMP) and Division of Pathology/Laboratory Medicine.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Develops laboratory workflows for single cell protocols. Establish single-cell -omics workflows for tissues, including but not limited to single-cell DNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics of frozen-fixed and paraffin embedded tissues as well as tissue single-nucleus RNA sequencing.

Data Analysis for translational cancer research Compiles analysis generated, records results in concordance with standard methodology of the Department, and submits results to the PI of the lab. Works with bioinformatics collaborators during developing these tissue-based single-cell omics workflows.

Laboratory Maintenance and Project Coordination Help with maintaining lab functions if needed, such as completing EHS laboratory safety training annually.

Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field. Five years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.
