A Postdoctoral Fellowship position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Arif Yurdagul studying the role of polyamine metabolism in smooth muscle cell function during atherosclerosis progression and regression. The Yurdagul lab, located in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at LSU Health Shreveport, has a long-standing interest in the mechanisms linking signaling pathways and cell metabolism during atherosclerosis progression and regression. In association with the LSU Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and Sciences (CCDS), the fellows will be exposed to extensive training and networking opportunities in vascular biology, immunology, metabolism, career development workshops through the local Post-Doctoral Association, and opportunities for intramural fellowships through the CCDS. 

Applicants must have received a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. within the last 0-2 years in cell biology, biochemistry, physiology, pathology, or related disciplines and possess a strong publication history. Candidates with a background in vascular cell biology or cell signaling are particularly encouraged to apply. Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to comprehend rapidly spoken English and to speak English fluently, both in 1:1 discussions and during seminar presentations will be considered.  Please send a C.V. and names of three references to: Arif Yurdagul, Ph.D., Assistant Professor for the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology, LSU Health Shreveport, Shreveport, LA 71130.  Email: ayurda@lsuhsc.eduLSU Health Shreveport is an EEO/AA employer.
