A post-doctoral fellow and a research assistant position are available for the Laboratory of Proteases and Immune Cells in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. The lab is currently interested in the role of eosinophils, type-2 innate lymphoid cells, and mast cells in myocardial infarction, hypertrophy, atherosclerosis, abdominal aortic aneurysm, obesity, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease. (https://connects.catalyst.harvard.edu/Profiles/display/Person/87114).

The post-doctoral candidate would have previous experience in at least one of the listed disease models. Candidates with backgrounds in islet or adipocyte biology, or Alzheimer’s disease, or strong immunology background are preferred. Fresh graduates are also preferred. Research assistant candidates can be more flexible. Position will start ASAP.

Requirements:

1). Post-doc candidates should have a strong track record of productivity. First author publication on high profile journal is required. For those who do not have first author publications, we will have to talk to your PhD advisor to get the details.

2). Reasonable English written skills. Post-doc research fellows are expected to apply for fellowships from AHA, ADA, NIH, or other private or public foundations. You will also be required to draft your own manuscripts.

3). Strong work ethic. You must be collaborative and be a good team player. Our lab has been historically very pleasant for each lab member.

4). Be able to handle multiple projects. It depends on your capability, most fellows in our lab handle several projects at the same time. We expect the same for the candidate.

Necessary lab skills include: FACS, cell sorting, immunohistology, immunofluorescent staining, immunoprecipitation, immunoblot, and other basic biochemistry and molecular biology techniques. Candidates with background in bioinformatics are preferred.
