Position Summary
The Beckman Research Institute (BRI) of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow. The Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute (DMRI) and the T Cell Therapeutics Research Laboratory (TCTRL) at BRI are developing an innovative program at the interphase between cancer and autoimmunity. This program overseen by Enrique Montero, M.D. Ph.D., Bart Roep, Ph.D. and Christine Brown, Ph.D. is developed in a fast-paced joint lab environment involved in cutting edge technology, research, and clinical immunotherapeutic programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will develop chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer.
  • This position will interact and collaborate with a team of research scientists with similar interests in developing T cell therapies.


Qualifications
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • A Ph.D. degree in life or biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is required.
  • E xperience in the fields of cellular immunology, cancer biology and protein engineering.
  • Research skills in cell culture, molecular biology, protein chemistry, lymphocyte function tests, flow cytometry and in vivo experimental models.
  • Ability to effectively develop a project in a translational research environment in order to successfully meet project goals.
  • Ability to design and execute experiments, critically interpret experimental results, and present data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to participate in the preparation of IND submissions, grant applications and scientific publications.
  • A publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
