Research Track Faculty Position

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Michigan seeks qualified applicants for a research track faculty position at any rank (research assistant professor / research associate professor / research professor), whose research interests fall within any cutting-edge area of pharmaceutical sciences.  We are especially interested in applicants working in biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, delivery of complex and large molecules, the gut microbiome, and other emerging strategies to improve drug formulation and delivery, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

We seek candidates who will provide inspiration and leadership in research and teaching by:  building a dynamic, independent, and self-sustained interdisciplinary research program; providing research mentorship to students (PhD, MS, BS, PharmD) and other trainees; contributing to the diversity and excellence of the academic community; contributing to excellence in our educational programs through teaching select undergraduate and graduate courses and working with others to manage the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) program and Master of Science in Integrated Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSIPS) program; and providing service to the department, college, university and scientific community.  The successful candidate will devote much of their time to research and mentorship activities, with about 30% to didactic teaching and oversight of the BSPS and MSIPS programs, and a small portion to other service activities. 

The following qualifications are required:

• PhD degree in pharmaceutical sciences or related fields

• 3 years of research experience after Ph.D.

• Demonstrated scholarship, as evidenced by authorship in peer-reviewed journals and other forms of scholarly output
• Didactic teaching experience, preferably at the graduate and professional level
