The Institute for Neuro- and Behavioural Biology of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Münster invites applications for a

Professor position (W2)

for

Behavioural Biology

Applicants should investigate the foundations of behavioural biology. The candidate will analyse, for example, how internal or external factors trigger and control behaviour and how interactions with the environment modulate individual behavioural responses. Cooperation with existing research networks, e.g. TransRegio SFB 212 ‘A novel synthesis of individualisation across behaviour, ecology and evolution: niche choice, niche conformance, niche construction’ and SFB 1348 ‘Dynamic cellular interfaces: Formation and Function’, as well as with existing graduate schools and research facilities is welcome.

The prospective candidate should participate in the development of new, interdisciplinary structures. We expect the candidate to actively and appropriately participate in teaching bachelor’s- and master’s-level courses at the Faculty of Biology and engage in academic self-administration.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have academic achievements made as a Juniorprofessor (assistant professor), in a Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.

The University of Münster is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the proportion of women academics. Consequently, we actively encourage applications by women. Female candidates with equivalent qualifications and academic achievements will be preferentially considered within the framework of the legal possibilities.

The University of Münster is committed to employing more staff with disabilities. Candidates with recognised severe disabilities who have equivalent qualifications are given preference in hiring decisions.

Please submit your application consisting of a CV, list of publications, summary of research interests, a future research plan and a statement of teaching experience in a single PDF file via email by 15th May 2021 to:
