Research Assistant II

Laboratory research and data collection Laboratory Research Conducts experiments in the area of natural product research including sterile cell culture, biomarker analyses, in vitro anticancer activity testing, and in vivo antitumor efficacy examination. Develops new and novel procedures for carrying out assigned research by reading literature and conferring with peers and supervisors; develop protocols for new procedures and implements new procedures. Accurately records data, correctly evaluates data and interprets data using appropriate computer software and methods requested. Trains other laboratory personnel in procedures as needed.

Human specimen handling Properly handle human study specimen including saliva, blood, tissue blocks and slides, and others. Maintain accurate records with patient sample information lab analyses results. Take inventory and ensure a good record of the location of each sample.

Laboratory Maintenance Prepare laboratory supply orders; keeps laboratory well stocked and operational.

Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences. Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
