Research faculty applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent and 2-3 years of postdoctoral research experience. We are looking for creative scientists engaged in basic or translational research into how the immune system affects the pathogenesis of multiple myeloma and response to therapy in myeloma patients or tumor models. Additional areas of research may include utilizing the immune response as a vehicle for cancer therapy. Applicants should have a strong record of recent accomplishments as a postdoctoral fellow or sustained productivity as an established faculty member with high impact publications and extramural funding.

Successful applicants will join one of the most prestigious cancer centers in the country, world-renowned for its multiple myeloma clinical and research programs. The Winthrop P. Due to its longstanding reputation for outstanding myeloma clinical care, the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute offers a comprehensive human subject database with detailed baseline and follow-up data that is unsurpassed in depth and capacity to predict patient outcomes. Faculty will reside within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Hematology/Oncology Division. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to thrive in the UAMS Myeloma Center, an intellectually stimulating and scientifically rigorous fast-paced environment providing exposure to cutting-edge approaches such as single-cell genomics, patient-derived xenograft mouse, genetic myeloma mouse, CRISPR/Cas9 genome engineering, proteomics and metabolomics. All laboratory projects are aimed at understanding how heterogeneous subpopulations of myeloma tumor cells evolve as ecosystems throughout therapy resistance. This recruitment is made possible through significant institutional support and a $10M annual commitment from the state of Arkansas to support the Cancer Institute’s efforts to attain NCI Designation.

Applicants should send a 3 page research statement, their Curriculum Vitae, a one page letter of interest, and 3 professional references directly to Recruitment Administrator, Jennifer Moulton at jamoulton@uams.edu. Applications will be reviewed now through July 1, 2021.
