The Senior Medical Director Pipeline is a healthcare industry medical professional that will support all aspects of scientific content creation, development, and management for the vaccines pipeline for the USMA Medical Team. This will include all pre and peri-launch scientific, regulatory, and planning activities as well as all medical activities for pipeline assets once approved

Operational responsibilities will focus on medical plan support, maintaining close relation with global leads, regulatory and labelling support, coordination with research and development, commercial team interactions and support, coordination for HQ and field medical activities such as congress coverage and team meetings. The role will also analyze field medical data, synthesize insights and provide support for presentations to internal leadership teams and other stakeholders.

Project management responsibilities will include innovation and technology specific initiatives and customer engagement program support. The role must work collaboratively and compliantly with leadership from the Vaccines USMA organization to assure timely execution of all deliverables.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support all aspects of scientific content creation, development, and management including oversight of the development of product and disease-state specific training programs for HQ, Field Medical, commercial and other cross functional personnel
  • Support the regulatory processes for filing, labelling committee, and pre-licensure activities
  • Support the global medical leads on the respective MSCs, PSCs, and asset teams
  • Support the commercial teams on launch planning, sales training, and launch meetings
  • Support the development and tracking of deliverables for Medical and Scientific Affairs work streams
  • Responsible for content development, timing, and execution of US Medical Affairs Advisory Boards
  • Provide scientific guidance to Field Medical team with respect to their independent activities with Vaccines Experts and Key Stakeholders
  • Communicate Medical Communication strategy to senior management and provide compliant updates to other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Ensure that clinical and non-promotional documents comply with medical and regulatory guidelines as well as departmental standard operating procedures
  • Manage the competitive intelligence process for Medical Affairs including reports, metrics, and analytics in coordination with the Vaccines Field Medical Lead.
  • Provide scientific expertise for the creation and development of training programs that support HQ and Field Medical needs.
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams by helping define clear, realistic goals; clear barriers to team progress, facilitate rapid decision-making and execute on cross-functional communication plans and methods.
  • Organize and facilitate effective meetings. Identifies and takes on action items as well as delegates action items, follow-up/track action items to resolution, updates project plans & deliverables, as required, identifies issues and ultimately resolves issues (to ensure effective meetings at all levels).
  • Provide therapeutic area, disease state and product specific scientific expertise internally (to medical affairs and cross functional teams).
  • Responsible for content development, timing, and execution of Congresses and Medical Affairs Advisory Boards involving Field Medical.
  • Lead the creation and development of Medical Communications and Training (durable Training Modules, live Educational Training Sessions, etc.) that support Field Medical.
  • Provide scientific expertise and advice during development of product-level medical training programs that supported Field Medical.
  • Provide project management support for all Medical Review Committee meetings and materials.
  • Ensure that Documents and Presentations are compliant with all guidelines and departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Provide Medical Congress support through the organization and dissemination of Key Abstract Reports, Master Calendar organization of planned activities, and Medical Information Booth staffing.
  • Provide promotional medical review as needed
  • Manage the medical competitive intelligence process.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience

Pharmacist, Epidemiologist, Immunologist, PhD with preferred training in internal medicine or pediatrics with US clinical practice experience required, and 10+ years of clinical practice and/or research experience.. Recent academic clinical and/or practice experience required and hospital based practice a plus. Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus but not required. Experience developing content for medical teams, analyzing medical literature, or a track record of publications is strongly preferred.
