Research Fellow Epigenetic Engineering - Novina Lab
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Boston, MA

The Novina Lab in the Department of Cancer Immunology and Virology is looking for an ambitious Research Fellow to lead a project developing novel therapeutic tools for epigenetic and epitranscriptomic engineering. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly-collaborative and entrepreneurial team of clinicians and scientists.

The Novina Lab developed a tool for targeted DNA methylation by tethering a “split-fusion” DNA methyltransferase to an endonuclease-deficient mutant Cas9. The Novina lab has developed a next generation proprietary platform to therapeutically target the epigenome and epitranscriptome. The Novina lab is seeking a talented protein biochemist to develop, optimize, and translate this platform. A major goal of this project will develop, optimize, and model this platform for therapy of one of the following disease areas: cancer, bone marrow failure syndromes, immune-related diseases, and obesity.

  • Candidates should have a PhD in biochemistry, cell biology or related discipline with a strong expertise in gene regulation.
  • Prior experience with epigenetics and transcriptomics is preferred.
