Post Doctoral Researcher
The Noble Laboratory at UNC Chapel Hill’s Institute of Marine Sciences is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of viral and bacterial pathogen research, particularly as applied to wastewater and water quality. The post doctoral researcher will work under the supervision of Dr. Rachel Noble as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary collaboratory group aimed at the development of novel, highplex molecular diagnostics for wastewater applications. A diverse range of research areas will be covered in the project, including molecular diagnostics, wastewater processing, pathogen tool development and public health decision making, affording the successful candidate broad experience in the advanced molecular diagnostic tools. This is an exciting position where the candidate will be immersed in the development of molecular based technology for pathogen quantification for wastewater, clinical and water quality surveillance. Research will be as part of a collaborative team engaged in federal agency wastewater surveillance. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop project management skills, and to mentor and lead undergraduate research projects, as well as the opportunity to participate and work in an atmosphere that encourages diversity and inclusivity.
