Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (www.oist.jp) in Japan invites applications for new faculty positions as part of its planned expansion.

 

Applications are invited in, but not limited to, the following Targeted Areas:

Quantum Information Science and Engineering, including

quantum computation

quantum cryptography

cyber security

quantum optics

Artificial Intelligence, including

machine learning

data science

smart machines

Molecular and Cell Biology, including

organoids

synthetic biology

 

Suitably qualified applicants for other science and technology fields should also apply as “Any other field” regardless of the subject area.

Excellent scholarship and creativity are the main criteria for appointment. Successful candidates are expected to establish an active and independent research program, supervise Ph.D. students, teach graduate courses, and perform university services as required. Appointments will be Tenure-Track or Tenured. The starting date is negotiable.

Each faculty will run an independent Research Unit with generous internal funding, including funds for several research staff.
