Federally and privately funded research programs within the department include neuroscience, reproductive biology, and pathology. In addition, faculty provide anatomic and clinical pathology expertise for our academic clinical and research programs, and support our laboratory animal medicine service.

The chair is also expected to support the professional development of faculty and staff, and to foster collaborative research within the department and across the University. This individual will manage the department budget and administrative affairs, and work collaboratively with colleagues and senior leadership at the school and university level.
